Soooo, I almost wanted to throw away this segment of my blog, BUT I didn’t. 😀
Today, I’m pleased to show you my sister’s 2016 protective hairstyle. She decided to put her hair up in crochet braids and boy has she been loving it! 🙂
If you haven’t heard of crochet braids, it is as the name suggests synthetic hair crocheted into your own cornrowed hair using a crochet hook. I’ve read that crochet braids have been out since the 90s but are a lot more modern and creative today.
Anyway, my sister really admired this style of crochet braids worn by YouTuber Kiitana.
This style is called Havana Twists. Havana twists can be short or long. My sister wanted to go with the shorter twists.
Shall we begin? 😀
My sister attempted to cornrow her hair herself:
This is the hair she used. (Just in case you wanted to know 🙂 )
The Installation Process:
My sister loved the hair, but she was not satisfied with her own cornrows, so she removed the twists and called my aunt and asked her if she could redo the cornrows. This was the result.
There you have it! My sister’s protective hairstyle is very versatile. The twists can even be worn unraveled. I like it even better unraveled, it looks even more natural than the original hairstyle.
We’ve done crochet braids before and I think this is the best one so far. When we attempted to do them in the past, we were inexperienced and we didn’t know very much about crochet braids but now after attending YouTube University we’re a little more informed. 😀
I hope you’ve enjoyed this post. Thank you so much for reading. Thank you Jayla for being a model for this post. ❤
